McDonough's Steam Locomotive

Among the historic buildings and exhibits at the community's Heritage Park is No. 7, a 2-4-0 Porter steam locomotive built in 1934. For a time it served West Penn Power as a yard engine. In the late 1990s it operated on the former Laurel Highlands tourist railroad in Scottdale, PA.

It was brought to the park to show visitors a real steam locomotive and to commemorate the many victims of the Camp Creek train wreck, which took place at McDonough in 1900.
