Jefferson's Steam Locomotive

Gainesville Midland No. 116 is on display on the north side of Jefferson, near the city's high school. The 2-8-0 locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1907.
Jefferson, the county seat of Jackson County, is in northeast Georgia, four miles south of I-85.

A shelter, built in the late 1990s, now protects it from the elements.
