Folkston Depot Folkston's Atlantic Coast Line depot, with its board-and-batten exterior and widely overhanging roof, represents a good example of a standard design approach used by ACL (and predecessor SF&W) across southern Georgia. Depots with these features can be seen in Ludowici, Walthourville, Alapaha, DuPont, Argyle (Manor depot)) Whigham, Climax, and Iron City. Other examples once existed but have been lost to destruction or extensive remodeling. The building now houses the Folkston Railroad Transportation Museum. Nearby is a train-watching platform for railfans who come to observe the action at the busy "Folkston Funnel."
