Seaboard Air Line Railroad
1955 map, Richland - Americus

At Americus, the Seaboard crossed the Central of Georgia.

The north-south railroad through Richland was the Seaboard's line from Columbus to Albany, built in 1886-90 as the Columbus Southern Railway. At Kimbrough was a branch to Bainbridge, Tallahassee, and the Gulf coast, previously the Georgia, Florida & Alabama. The dismantled railroad between Richland and Kimbrough was a parallel SAL route abandoned after the GF&A acquisition.
