Piedmont Air-Line

A marketing name used in the 1870s to early 1890s by the Richmond & Danville Railroad and several other railroads under its control. In Georgia, these were the Atlanta & Richmond Air Line Railway and its successor, the Atlanta & Charlotte Air Line Railway.

The new Southern Railway took over these lines in 1894 and continued to use the Piedmont Air-Line name for a time.
