ACL Flint River Bridge at Bainbridge

One of two swing bridges over the Flint at Bainbridge, this one served the Atlantic Coast Line. A half-mile downstream is the other, which carried trains of the Seaboard Air Line Railway.

The bridge shown on this old postcard is similar in design to the ACL bridge above, but appears to be of lighter construction. Also, the docked steamboat suggests that the bridge is not the ACL's but instead that of the Seaboard or its predecessor Georgia, Florida & Alabama Railway.
