Augusta & Savannah Railroad

Established February 16, 1856 as successor to the Augusta and Waynesboro Railroad, this 53-mile line connected Augusta to the Central of Georgia Railway at Millen.

It was long controlled by the Central, which finally absorbed it in 1948.
