Atlanta & Hawkinsville Railroad Organized in July 1886 and chartered in December of that year, the Atlanta and Hawkinsville Railroad Company was authorized to build a line from Atlanta to the middle Georgia steamboat port of Hawkinsville, or to Thomasville, or to both places.
