Dallas Depot

The East Tennessee, Virginia & Georgia Railroad, constructed through Dallas in the early 1880s, was folded into the new Southern Railway in 1894. The station shown above, built by Southern to replace an earlier structure, was a standard combination passenger/freight facility using a design common to dozens of towns. It no longer stands, but the railroad, now operated by Norfolk Southern, continues to move trains across northwest Georgia into Tennessee and beyond.
